Description
This is a striking bone china cabinet plate made at the Collingwood Brothers factory at Longton in Staffordshire, around 1890. Decorated with a pale cream ground overlaid with a design of stems, flowers and leaves in bronze, gilt and platinum, executed in the ‘raised gold’ technique. The base bears the hand-written pattern number, 7630, in red.
Roger Stretch Antiques has clarified that the Collingwood Brothers Cabinet Plate c.1890 (LA161244) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1890
