This fine country house chair is highly decorative and would suit many positions. It is made from walnut and has an ornate high back with an elaborate central panel with a superb carved naturalistic crest rail which has a very detailed bird amongst flowers, berries and fir cones. nnBelow, there are continuous entwined foliate wreaths which are flanked with ornately turned and carved columns with finial tops.nnThe chair stands on turned and carved front legs which are fitted with sunken brass and leather castors.nnThe seat is supported with substantial carved rails with flower head rosettes on the front corners.nnThis beautiful country house chair has an ornately upholstered seat edged with a tooled leather boarder and a central panel of hand worked tapestry decorated with an amusing assortment of rabbits in different positions in a wooded landscape. The tapestry is edged with a braided boarder with brass studs.nnThis most eye catching chair is in very good original condition with a dark wax polished finish.
